PESHAWAR: Peshawar witnessed a grand two-day Skill Development Technical Seminar and the “Little Warriors Kids Taekwondo Championship,” organized under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ITF Taekwondo Association. The event, held at Hayatabad Sports Complex, became a remarkable platform for national and international Taekwondo players to enhance their skills and showcase their talent.
The seminar was conducted under the supervision of senior international Taekwondo Master Gula Jan Wafa, an 8th Dan Black Belt holder and President of the Traditional Taekwondo Asian Federation. Master Wafa delivered lectures on various traditional and modern aspects of international Taekwondo, focusing on improving athletes’ training efficiency. Korean Master Yu, representing the Korean Embassy in Islamabad, and Taekwondo Master Gula Jan Wafa were among the key speakers.

Chairman Naveed Habibi of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ITF Taekwondo Association organized the event impeccably. The purpose of the seminar was to introduce young athletes and coaches to advanced technical skills. The sessions included demonstrations of foundational techniques and strategies for improving performance during training and competitions.
As part of the event, the “Little Warriors Kids Taekwondo Championship” was held, attracting male and female participants from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This championship provided a platform for children to demonstrate their talent through exciting contests, with special appearances by dignitaries, including the President of Pakistan ITF, Mr. Rana Sadaqat Ali, and other officials.
The seminar also served as a preparatory stage for athletes aiming to participate in the upcoming Asian Taekwondo Championship in Iran. Outstanding performers were shortlisted for potential selection, with final names to be announced soon, as confirmed by Naveed Habibi.
The event’s success owed much to the dedicated efforts of Hayatabad Sports Complex Administrator Abid Afridi, whose commitment to promoting sports in the region has been widely recognized. His contributions have significantly bolstered martial arts and other sports activities across Peshawar.
In the concluding ceremony, distinguished guests distributed awards and shields among prominent seminar participants and high-performing children. The event reinforced the importance of organizing such platforms to polish athletes’ skills and inspire them to excel at the international level.

This two-day event has left an indelible mark on the national sports landscape, creating a positive impression of Pakistan’s efforts to promote international Taekwondo and martial arts.
