PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) is set to represent the province in the upcoming Pakistan Travel Mart to be held at the Expo Centre in Karachi from January 31-February 2.
Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums Zahid Chanzeb has said that the KP participation in the Pakistan Travel Mart would present a soft image and send a positive message to the world about the province and its people besides creating jobs and investment opportunities here.
Besides Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a number of travel companies, tour agencies and stakeholders from private sector would also participate in the mega event.
The Pakistan Travel Mart is a travel and tourism expo held annually to connect all partners of mobility in Pakistan with key stakeholders from the travel, tourism and hospitality industries taking the lead to promote inbound, outbound and domestic travel in Pakistan.
During the three-day travel mart, conferences on various topics would be held, and there would also be an opportunity to showcase provincial tourism and culture. The KPCTA would represent the province by setting up a pavilion displaying handicraft stalls made by the province’s artisans, information desks having brochures, pamphlets and posters on heritage and history, tourist and scenic spots, tourism, culture, and investment opportunities in the province, traditional rubab music for showcasing the province’s culture and documentaries about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourism and culture would also be screened.
